Hello. I'm Sandy Williams and I'll be working with you this week. By the end of our time together, you'll have learned almost everything there is to know about electrotherapy!

I know the last clinic you worked in didn't use electrical stimulators, so we'll need to bring you up to speed on how to use them the right way and what to expect from them. Before we get into that, however, I want to review what electrotherapy is and the indications for using it.

As I'm sure you realize, electrical stimulation is an appropriate therapeutic modality for many, but not all, injuries. You need to understand both the indications and the contraindications to using it.

Because you'll decide nearly every day whether electrotherapy is indicated for your patients, I've created a handy reference chart for you. It shows common situations in which electrical stimulation may be useful. Look at the chart and print it if you want to, then click Next when you're ready to continue.
